Great cabins on a beautiful flowage. The cabins are very clean and well appointed. The cabin we stayed in had a nice deck overlooking the water. Cell service is spotty, but the cabins have WiFi if needed. The flowage holds good fishing. And Cry of the Loon has a wonderful cleaning house to clean your catch. They have a private boat launch on-site. And gas and bait can be purchased on the water right around the corner in Donners Bay. The owners rent pontoons, kayaks, and other water craft. Perfect spot for a family tradition or for a fish camp outing.

My family has been coming here every summer for twenty years now. Even now well into adulthood I still look forward to it. The property is beautiful and the cabins have been well maintained. Not to mention the owner basically rebuilt them all by hand. They're cozy and have both furnaces and air conditioning. They all have TV's with cable and DVD players as well. Ken, the owner, rents out several watercraft. Standard 14' outboards, pontoons, and kayaks if you care to try them. There is a boat launch if you want to bring your own craft and several piers to moor your boat. The fishing on the flowage is great as well. Nearby you have Butternut and Minocqua. Butternut is closer and is where we shop for groceries and other essentials. Minocqua is a fun stop for your tourist-y things. Food, shopping, that sort of thing. There's a very quaint shopping center with something for everyone. A bookstore, fudge shop, packerland plus (because Wisconsin), and many more. Go here. Just about my only gripes are the wifi isn't great and depending on when you go the bugs can be bad. But the latter can't be helped and former isn't relevant, you don't go to a place like this for wifi. You go to separate yourself from the real world for a while, escape. Do yourself a favor and drive Popko Circle as well. It's a fun time. Lake of the Falls park is a nice stop too. Listen, go here. Just do it. You won't be disappointed. Oh, and reserve well in advance. It's gained quite a lot of popularity over the years. We used to reserve a year in advance at the end of our stay for convenience, now its a matter of necessity. It gets booked very quickly.

Really had fun fishing on the lake, caught more blue gill, bass and perch than we could eat. Ken and Audrey were great hosts with very reasonable prices. I highly suggest staying here.

After 40 years of camping and fishing the Flambeau, my buddy and I decided we were too old and decrepit and found this place. It is absolutely perfect. Clean and very comfortable. Excellent dock with great access to the Flowage. Sitting on the sunny porch in the morning. It doesn't get better than this.

Rustic cabins but not too rustic. 1st time back here in years but the owners are still fantastic and it is great bringing my daughters to the place I came while growing up.
